Reception for new women faculty and staff set
A reception for new faculty and staff women will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at the Women's Center, Sloss House. Sponsored by the University Committee on Women and the Women's Center, the reception provides an opportunity for current faculty and staff to meet these new members of the campus community. Students abroad welcomed back
Interim President Richard Seagrave and Provost Rollin Richmond will welcome back more than 950 students who studied or worked abroad last year during a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room. The campus community is invited.


Mentors needed
Faculty and researchers currently engaged in research who are interested in having freshman Honors student assistants next spring should contact the Mentor Program. Students are matched with mentors based on mutual research interests and basic qualifications. The research assistant- ship may be continued beyond the freshman year at the mentor's discretion. Stephens tickets on sale
Public sale of tickets for performances of the 32nd Season at Stephens are on sale at the Iowa State Center Ticket Office or through Ticketmaster centers. For information or to request a season brochure, call 4-3347 or visit www.center.iastate.edu.


Business After-Hours at Reiman Gardens
The Iowa State community is invited to the Ames Chamber of Commerce Business After-Hours, hosted by ISU, in the Reiman Gardens from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Refreshments will be served and Interim President Richard Seagrave will give brief comments about Iowa State's "Strengthening families to become the best" celebration.


College for Seniors to begin
College for Seniors will offer 10 courses fall semester, each meeting once a week for eight weeks. Courses are $40 and most are held at Scheman. Registrations are due by Aug. 11. A preview of offerings will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, in Scheman, second floor.
