Receptions
Richard Groeneveld
A retirement reception for Richard Groeneveld, University
Professor of Statistics, will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 18, in 102 Snedecor. Groeneveld has been on
the ISU faculty since 1970.
Ed Pollak
A retirement reception for Ed Pollak, professor of
statistics and genetics, will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 19, in 102 Snedecor. Pollak joined the ISU
faculty in 1964.
John Basart
A retirement reception for John Basart, professor of
electrical and computer engineering, will be held from 2 to 4
p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Memorial Union Campanile
Room. Entertainment will be provided by the Heartland Senior
Band.
John Strong
A retirement reception for John Strong, associate
professor of human development and family studies, will be
held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the LeBaron
Lounge. A program begins at 4 p.m. Strong has been on the ISU
faculty for 25 years.
Kenneth McConnell
A retirement reception for Kenneth McConnell, professor
of aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics, will be
held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 25, in the Memorial
Union Campanile Room. McConnell joined the ISU faculty in
September 1957.
Jon Applequist
A retirement reception for Jon Applequist, professor of
biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology, will be held
from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the Molecular
Biology atrium. A program begins at 2:30 p.m. Applequist has
been at ISU for 35 years.
Martin Miller
A retirement reception for Martin Miller, professor of
sociology, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 25,
in the Memorial Union Cardinal Room. Miller retires July 31
after 31 years at Iowa State.
Sharron Gilson
A retirement reception for Sharron Gilson, secretary in
the ISU Extension State 4-H Office, will be held from 3 to
4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the Memorial Union Gallery.
Gilson has been with the office more than 13 years.
Robert Molison
A retirement reception for Robert Molison, professor of
music, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 28, in the
Music Hall lobby. A program will begin at 4:15 p.m.
Janet Alcorn
A retirement reception for Janet Alcorn, associate
professor of vocal music, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the Music Hall lobby. A program
will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Jack Horowitz
A retirement reception for Jack Horowitz, University
Professor of biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology,
will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in the
Molecular Biology atrium. A program will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Letters for a remembrance book should by sent by May 1 to Don
Beitz, 313 Kildee, dcbeitz@iastate.edu. Horowitz has been at
Iowa State for 39 years.
David Countryman
A retirement reception for David Countryman, professor of
forestry, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, May 8, in the
Memorial Union Cardinal Room.
