Cousteau lecture set for Sept. 23

Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the famous underwater explorer, will speak to an Iowa State audience at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Memorial Union Sun Room. His presentation on "Designing our Future" will include video footage.

Cousteau is a graduate of the Paris School of Architecture and president of the Living Design Corp. He spent his childhood exploring the oceans with his father aboard the Calypso and Alcyone. With his dad, he produced films and television programs, including Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. Cousteau currently is producing the television series Cousteau's Rediscovery of the World.

He also has been involved in many environmental projects, including heading the team that transformed a section of the ocean liner Queen Mary into California's Living Sea Museum.
