Faculty mentors sought

ISU's Freshman Honors Program is seeking faculty mentors during spring semester for students in the program. Researchers and faculty with research projects who are interested in having one or more freshman assistants should contact Stephanie Hamilton, University Honors Office, 4-4371, e-mail: slhamilt@iastate.edu by Friday, Sept. 4. Graduate students interested in serving as mentors must have their major professor indicate the responsibilities freshman students will have in a project. Students will work at least 3 hours each week of spring semester and receive one academic credit for each three-hour commitment.

The research assistantships may continue beyond the freshman year at the mentor's discretion.

Over the last six years, nearly 800 freshman Honors students have participated in the mentor program. Questions can be directed to Hamilton or to associate provost Ed Lewis, 4- 5884, e-mail: eclewis@iastate.edu.
