LAS dean search will continue

The search has been extended for a new dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The search committee, chaired by veterinary medicine dean Richard Ross, will continue its work through the summer. The committee's goal is to identify more finalists by early fall semester and bring a new dean to campus by Jan. 1.

Four candidates visited campus in late February or early March for two days of interviews.

Former LAS dean Elizabeth Hoffman left Iowa State last fall. Richard Hoffmann, associate dean and professor of zoology, is serving as interim dean.
