Course openings on the Web May 22

Beginning May 22, students will be able to view openings in all course sections with just a click of the mouse.

Using the online schedule of classes (www.adp.iastate.edu/cgi-bin/class), students can see the number of seats available in a course, as well as the reference number, meeting times and room/instructor information (if available). Links to course descriptions and textbook information also are available.

The number of seats available is displayed in green; the word "closed" in red means the section is full.

The information is updated daily during registration start date periods, orientation and the first week of the term, and weekly during slower registration periods. The date and time of the most recent update appears at the top of the course listing display.

"The ability to view data on course openings will be a valuable tool for students as they prepare to register or make schedule changes through the touch-tone registration system," said Kathy Jones, registrar. "Past feedback and suggestions from both students and advisers indicate this will be a very popular new service."

The online schedule of classes is available from the Office of the Registrar Web page or FindIt on the Iowa State Web page.
