Coach Nunez takes administrative position

Athletic director Gene Smith announced April 24 that women's volleyball coach Jackie Nunez has been reassigned to an administrative position in the athletic department.

"Jackie and I have been discussing her transition to administration for quite some time, and we mutually agreed that this was a good time for that to occur," Smith said. "We thank Jackie for her service as head volleyball coach."

Details involving Nunez's responsi-bilities and terms of employment will be finalized later, Smith added.

Cyclone assistant coach Yvette Moorehead has been named interim volleyball coach. A national search for a permanent coach is under way.

Thinning ranks on the current team, due to injuries and several players leaving the program, prompted Smith to cancel the team's spring practices and tournament.
