Child care openings

Despite the disappearance of residential units in Pammel Court this fall and winter, University Community Childcare, located at the north end of Pammel Court, continues to serve the Iowa State and Ames communities. UCC currently has openings in these programs: 2- and 3-year-olds, 4- and 5- year-olds, before and after school care and flex care, a part-time preschool program. For more information, contact Penny Pepper, 4-9838, e-mail: ppepper@iastate.edu.

Incomplete grades

Incomplete grades may be granted if a student is doing passing work but is unable to complete the work by the end of the term due to circumstances beyond his/her control. Valid reasons for an incomplete mark must be presented to the instructor by the student or the student's adviser. If approved, the instructor and the student complete an Incomplete Mark Report form. Both student and instructor should sign it. The instructor enters an "I" on the final grade report and submits the form and the report to the registrar.

The time is online

The current time is now available on the ISU Web site. "Time Check" is available from the "Today's News" pages, as well as the FindIt index.

The time is coordinated using Network Time Protocol, NTP, a standard used to synchronize times on computer systems on the Internet. Informal tests of the new ISU site indicate it provides the time, accurate to within a few seconds of U.S. official time, as kept by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
