Veishea committee honors faculty, staff members

Tim West, assistant professor of accounting, and Janice Holtkamp, instructor and research associate in the economics department (College of Agriculture), were named the 1997 Veishea professor and staff person of the year, respectively, at a reception April 17.

Veishea faculty and staff members of the year are nominated by Iowa State students. A professor of the year is chosen from each college and from that group, an overall Veishea professor is chosen.

Professors of the year by college are:

  • Agriculture: Duane Mangold, professor of agriculture/biosystems engineering

  • Business: Tim West, assistant professor of accounting

  • Design: Alan Jensen, design extension field specialist

  • Education: Steve Hohman, assistant professor of health and human performance

  • Engineering: Richard Seagrave, Distinguished Professor of chemical engineering

  • Family and Consumer Sciences: Diane McComber, associate professor of food science and human nutrition

  • Liberal Arts and Sciences: Daniel Voytas, assistant professor of zoology and genetics

  • Veterinary Medicine: William Reece, professor of veterinary physiology and pharmacology
