Diversity seminar seeks to build open community at Iowa State

The Office of Training and Development is seeking participants for a four-part seminar on building an open community at Iowa State. Dialogues on Diversity will meet from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and Nov. 18 in the Wallace-Wilson residence complex.

The series is open to all staff, faculty and graduate students and aims to foster an environment in which individual differences are respected and cultural differences contribute to mutual understanding, not divisiveness. The seminar includes both experiential activities and personal reflection on issues of diversity.

The seminar is adapted from a university studies course developed several years ago for students.

Refreshments will be served at each session. To register, call the Office of Training and Development, 4-8914.
