Jacobson dedication is Sept. 7

Tens of thousands will attend the dedication ceremony for Iowa State's new athletic department facilities tomorrow (Sept. 7). The new Jacobson Athletic Building, which overlooks the field, and the remodeled Olsen Building will be dedicated at halftime of the ISU-Wyoming football game. The game begins at 6 p.m.

All of ISU's intercollegiate athletes will participate in the ceremony.

The Jacobson Building is named for Des Moines businessman Richard Jacobson, the $10.6 million project's lead donor.

The Jacobson Building houses almost all of ISU's athletic department staff. It also includes ticket-selling operations, a 130-seat auditorium and a new athletic hall of fame. The Olsen Building will house a state-of-the-art athletic health care center and weight room.

A public open house is scheduled for Sept. 29.
