Help center open this weekend

Iowa State students with new school year questions can find answers at a help center the weekend before classes begin.

The help center, in 210 Beardshear, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.

In its second year of operation, the help center focuses on students new to Iowa State, but also offers assistance for any student.

The help center will be staffed by the following units: Registrar, Student Financial Aid, Employment, Admissions, Dean of Students and Parking Systems.

Several other Iowa State offices will be open at the same time. They include the Treasurer's Office and Accounts Receivable, 122 Beardshear; Minority Student Affairs, 301 Beardshear; Computation Center and Telecommunications, Durham Center; ISUCard services and Off-Campus Center, Memorial Union; Student Services Building; Residence Department, 1215 Friley Hall; and Parking Systems, Armory.

The Student Health Services will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. It also will be open for urgent care from noon to 10 p.m. both days.

The University Book Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

For easier access to the help center, free parking for students and their parents will be available along Morrill Road.
