Jischke is AIAA fellow

by Skip Derra

President Martin Jischke has been elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Jischke is one of 34 aerospace leaders selected as AIAA Fellows and Honorary Fellows, considered one of the highest honors in the field. The new fellows will be honored during the AIAA Global Air & Space '96 Conference in April.

Jischke's educational background is in aerospace engineering and he is trained as a fluid dynamicist with expertise in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and problems related to high-speed aircraft and spacecraft. He is the third Iowa State faculty member to become an AIAA fellow. The others are Jim Iversen and John Tannehill, both professors of aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics.

AIAA is the world's leading professional society in aeronautics and astronautics.
