Inside Iowa State Dec. 1, 1995 Dance Studios Named For Toman Distinguished professor emeritus Betty Toman will be honored Sunday, Dec. 10, when the Betty Toman Dance Studios in the Physical Education Building are dedicated. Toman has taught dance at Iowa State for more than 40 years. The dedication, which will feature an extensive dance program, will begin at 7 p.m. in 196 P.E. Building. There will be a reception in Room 123 at 8 p.m. The dedication will be part of the annual dance concert, "Footfalls." The dance program at the dedication will include classic Toman techniques and dance improvisations, and performances by ISU dance clubs Orchesis I and II, the ISU Dance Tour Company and dance faculty. The program also will feature an intergenerational dance work, classic tap and modern dance. The ISU Dance Tour Company will perform a modern dance work titled, "For Those Who Have No Voice." The dance will feature an original poem by Evelyn Jensen, Toman's collaborator for 25 years. A special musical dedication will be performed by Jensen. The Octagon Tappers, directed by Toman, also will perform. __________ University Relations Iowa State University
