Talk of Iowa, which airs weekdays on WOI-AM, begins at 10 a.m. CHRISTMAS TREE SALE The ISU Forestry Club concludes its Christmas tree sale this weekend (Dec. 1-3). Trees will be sold at the Reiman Gardens from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Dec. 1), from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. CATT EXHIBIT "The Yellow Rose of Suffrage: The Life of Carrie Chapman Catt" is on exhibit in the Parks Library (first floor) through Jan. 2. The exhibit was developed for the dedication of Catt Hall in October and portrays Catt's time as an Iowa State student and leader of the women's suffrage movement. Included are the 1880 class picture, her 1917 address to the U.S. Congress, numerous letters and awards and Catt's will, which documents her support of Iowa State. HONORS PROJECT The fall poster presentation of Honors students' projects will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room. Refreshments will be served. CAREER CONFERENCE A career conference for junior and senior high school girls will be held next spring at Iowa State. The annual conference, "Taking the Road Less Traveled: A Career Conference for Young Women, Their Parents and Educators," provides opportunities to explore nontraditional careers for women in science, engineering and technology. Girls in grades 6 to 9 will meet on Saturday, March 30, 1996, and girls in grades 9 to 12 will meet on Thursday, April 25, 1996. Lunch is included in the $12.50 registration fee. Registration information will be sent to Iowa schools in early January. Early registrations will not be accepted. LET'S DANCE The second annual White Christmas Semi-Formal Dance, sponsored by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, will be held from 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, to 1 a.m. in 167 Scheman. Music will range from Salsa, Merengue (Caribbean/Latin) and Tejano (Mexican) to Techno and Rap. Food and beverages and a cash bar will be provided. GROUNDBREAKING Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new student health center will begin at 11 a.m. today (Dec. 1) at the parking lot west of Beyer.
