Inside Iowa State Oct. 27, 1995 AUTHORS READ FROM FAMILY REUNION Iowa authors will read excerpts from their essays during a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in the Mahlstede Center, Reiman Gardens. The writers are featured in Family Reunion, a collection of essays about Iowa published in observance of the state's sesquicentennial. The reception, hosted by the ISU Friends of the Library, will conclude with a book signing. Reservations should be made by Friday, Oct. 27, by calling 4- 1442. Guests of honor will include Family Reunion editor Thomas Morain, director of the State Historical Society. Iowa Staters featured in the book include Mary Swander, professor of English; Erin Block, a junior in psychology (and her mother, Liz, who received a Ph.D. in child development from ISU); and Mohamad Khan, a horticulture specialist with ISU Extension in Warren County. Other essayists who will read are David Yepsen of the Des Moines Register, O'Brien County farmer and writer Steve Berntson, former Des Moines banker John Chrystal, and Graceland College president Barbara Higdon.
