MAYFIELD NAMED ASSOCIATE DEAN John Mayfield, professor of zoology and genetics, has been appointed to an associate dean position in the Graduate College. He fills the vacancy created by George Karas' retirement this spring. Mayfield's position is a half-time appointment for four years. Mayfield's primary responsibilities this year will be to work with the graduate curriculum committee and to oversee the university's interdepartmental graduate programs.
