Jischke Lists International Accomplishments


-- President Martin Jischke, speaking at the recent faculty 
conference in Grinnell:

"Our livestock researchers import pigs from China and make a 
major breakthrough in swine genetics.

Our crop researchers import corn from South America and 
soybeans from Asia and make significant advancements in 
improving the genetic base of Iowa's most important crops.

Our physicists join with their colleagues in an international 
effort to discover the elusive last piece of the subatomic 
puzzle and they play a major role in proving the existence of 
the 'Top Quark.'

The list of international accomplishments and exciting 
possibilities grows almost daily."
