Announcements MALAYSIA NIGHT The Malaysian Student Association will hold its annual cultural night Sunday, March 26, in the Memorial Union Great Hall. The fund-raising event, which this year will benefit Heartland Senior Services, Ames, begins at 6 p.m. and will include performances, a fashion show, a display of arts and crafts, and a reception featuring Malaysian cuisine. Tickets are $12, with discounts for seniors and students, and are available at the Hub, the Memorial Union ticket counter and Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Stone's talk is titled "The Survival of Small Towns in Iowa," and will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, in 220 Scheman. Refreshments will begin at 3 p.m. The program is open to the public. Talk of Iowa, which airs weekdays on WOI-AM, begins at 10 a.m. WOI-AM is at 640 on the radio dial. COMMITTEE ON WOMEN Applicants are being sought for membership on the Committee on Women. Faculty, P&S, Merit and student positions are available. The committee gives input on policy decisions that affect the climate for women on campus. WORK-STUDY SPLIT CHANGE In an effort to give more students an opportunity to participate in Work-Study (a financial aid, need-based program), ISU departments and units will be asked to pay a bigger share of students' salaries during the next two years. During FY96, departments' share will go from the current 30 percent to 35 percent. In FY97, departments will pay 40 percent of the students' salaries. At the current level of funding, the new split eventually would provide an opportunity for about 150 more students to participate in the Work Study program. 25 YEAR CLUB Seventy-three people will be inducted into ISU's 25 Year Club during the annual banquet on Wednesday, March 29, in Scheman. Social time will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the second floor lobby, with dinner at 7 p.m. in Room 220. The guest speaker will be Ken Jolls, professor of chemical engineering. Also honored this year will be ISU employees who have been with the university 35 or more years.
